Global Humanitarian Crisis Following United States Aid Cuts Directly Caused By President Trumps Withdrawl of USAID Policies 


The world has already paid the price for President Trump’s decision to massive cut, then dismantle the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). With this new policy, 83% of the programs under USAID are eliminated, leaving only 17% that will be moved to the State Department. The changes are detrimental to countries dependent on aid from the US. In Myanmar, the lack of response by USAID to the earthquake worsened the ongoing crisis from civil war, while Afghanistan's reduction of food and medical support aid endangers millions facing starvation and disease. In Sudan, where half the population requires relief, the aid cuts lead to the closure of 80% of community kitchens, contributing to famine and death. The former south African HIV/AIDS funded by USAID now has to deal with drastic collapse which could lead to hundreds of thousands of new infections and deaths .
